Summary: Customers receive SMS messages only in connection with an existing appointment they have scheduled with a participating business.
Messages are transactional and may include an appointment confirmation, an appointment reminder, and a post-visit follow-up (e.g., request for feedback/review).
Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
How Customers Opt In
Customers opt in by providing their phone number directly to the participating business when booking an appointment. Booking may occur via phone call, in person, or through the business’s booking channel. At the time of booking, the business informs the customer that they will receive appointment-related text messages.
Message Types & Frequency
- Confirmation: sent after an appointment is created.
- Reminder: typically sent prior to the appointment time (e.g., ~3 hours before, when applicable).
- Post-visit follow-up: sent after the appointment has concluded (e.g., request for feedback/review).
Message frequency is low and tied to appointment activity. No marketing or promotional broadcasts are sent.
